Oncothermia is a next-generation treatment uniquely developed from the conventional hyperthermia. It does not simply raises the tumor temperature(42~43℃), but also selectively destroys malignant tissue of high conductivity with its modulated electric field of 13.56MHz. Oncothermia controls absorbed energy dose and selectively applies it to malignant cells while the conventional hyperthermia simply operates depending on specific(certain) thermodynamic parameters such as temperature. The modulated electric field passing through a patient makes the tumor a controllable parameter within the electric circuit, and its energy is selectively transferred to the tumor causing the death of cancer cells by a process of apoptosis.
